I have had my 84 GN since around 89, it hasn't been driven since 92. It is in need of restoration and I have mostly everything I need to complete the job. The car has 63k on it and is very original. I hope to start working on the car in the near future as time and health permit. I got very far behind on getting my shop set up and am now playing catch up. I have been a gear head forever and grew up with the 60's cars being very used and abused in car lots. I remember my brothers 100 dollar camaro's and impala SS's  My first decent car was a 73 pontiac grand am 4 speed, which was scrapped in the 80's (lost storage) I have since bought another GA 4 speed (awaiting resto). I have a 67 camaro BBC/TH 400 that ran 10's in 1992, haven't raced it since.
I was a machinist for many years and also a maintenance tech, welder, ironworker, etc. I retired in July due to health reasons and am currently disabled so it is difficult to get things done when I want and certainly work slower than I ever thought possible. I changed 4 u-joints in my suburban today and it took me all day! 2 hr job! I am coming to terms with my new pace and work in spells while squeezing my therapy in.
I want to get started on my GN as it is the easiest repair I have, I don't have to replace any sheet metal, but I do have a few dents to fix. I also do sheetmetal shaping as a hobby. I have checked my data sheet and it is the real deal. The hardest part of the repair (for me) will be fixing the trunk lock that was punched out years ago. The interior is good, but needs cleaned. The underhood pad is shot but I have a NOS one that I picked up a few years ago for cheap, still in the box. I will have a few questions for sure.
Great to be here and it seems like a great group. PS I have been enjoying the babe threads.
