It could only be four things if it was working properly then all of sudden the pm began to act up. I say this because I had it happen to me.
1) the switch is failing
2) the accumulator ball is failing but you change that so scratch this possibility
3) the vacuum pump is failing
3) the seals in the master cylinder are beginning to fail. Note: When the seals fail the pm will work normal when cold until the brake fluid gets hot then you will either get a hard or soft pedal and the brake light should come on.
End result after changing 3/4 of the parts on pm and narrowing the problem to the master cylinder seals I just converted to vacuum booster assist. Problem fixed and most of all peace of mind.
