Buy the bullet and spend 39.99, buy kasperky 2010 antivirus, one of the best i've ever used period.

I put avast on my last lap top for something different so far so good.
I have had a bug or two with AVG over the years. I think the people selling the AV software are the same people making the viruses.

And Ramen noddles are people.

hello people; A co worker recommended trend micro and he says he looks at all kinds of stuff and it works. If you know what I mean.

AVG works pretty well and lets you know what exact virus/ailment your puter may have. Talk to flintbuick4life as well.

hello people; Rmar the explanation is it's sexually orientated. He also mentioned hamster.com. If you like that kind of stuff?

All of the posted AV engines are great products but, it is better to cough up a few dollars and buy an entire solution that protects from things like impersonated web sites and dns highjacking.

BEFORE any of the mac or linux lovers chime in, its not only the OS anymore. First look at total vulnerabilities and then look at new threats that happen beyond your network or that are agnostic to your running operating system. I laugh at people that run "other" OSes and ignore the real threats to their data and personal information. Most paid AV solutions go beyond just protection for local compromises.

If you are a computer beginner, just buy the $40 anti virus software and install it. If you know a bit about computers, there is a lot of free stuff out there.

The paid AV is so much better as most threats now are outside of what typical attacks (viruses) fall under. The main threats are from scripting and attacks via Adobe flash player (youtube needs this), adobe reader and all things java.

Besides keeping good AV and the most recent OS patches, absolutely keep any adobe and oracle/java programs patched.

Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows - Windows

Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Macintosh - MAC

Latest Java
Download Java for Windows Firefox

I always uninstall any previous versions of Adobe and Java products whenever I can, prior getting the latest version.

hello people; The LT came with Norton as a AV what do think of that for a AV?

ESET NOD32 Business Edition... You can find license usernames and passwords by just doing a google search. Or DL from a forum like smarthackerz.com that has any software you can dream of that is already cracked or include licenses, keys or a keygen. Just search what you need. Copy and paste the DL link... And enjoy... If there is something there you want but don't see.... Try and participate in some discussions before you start asking for a bunch of stuff. They like that better.

If you want this AVG these guys are talking about.... Here is AVG Avtivirus Pro 8.5.287
