Last one really? even before the OD ring and carrier?
Ive always thought it was other way around.
I just dont want to risk it because I ended up with a PTS xtreme billet converter, pretty pricey converter. If I toast the tranny and the converter by breaking the shaft... Thats alot of money out. But if I know the input shaft wont break, hopefully that would save the converter?
Its a 406, 475TQ, eventual plan of 250 nitrous
The billet Forward Drum is a MUST if you dont have it.
This wil be the first part to break,It CAN take the OD ring gear with it.
But this is the order is would use
Billet forward Drum
Od Planet
OD ring gear
Input shaft.
The Input shaft will break more easily if your locking the convertor under throttle,If not the other parts IMO are more inportant in that order.
To the Trans guys,
How often do you see broken input shafts? I have locked my 5 disc Vig in my mid to low 11 sec cars. I usually do not lock until 70+ MPH. Should I expect to break my input shaft? I only lock it at the track. Maybe 20 passes a year.
