Any one run a double pumper with both pump on full time?

know if i can trust the hobs switch.

Can't do it with stock fuel lines...the return line will be overwhelmed...could probably do it with larger lines...but why?...what's not to trust on a Hobbs switch...very simple unit that basically uses pressure(air) to complete an elec circuit...as long as you have some type of light hooked up to show that the circuit has been completed shouldn't be a problem....

If you don't trust the hobbs switch, do like I do. Every couple months or so, I just take a jumper (couple aligator clips with piece of wire between them) and jump across the two terminals, you should see your fuel pressure gauge jump some, indicating the second pump coming on.

The alligator clips doesn't test the switch...it still could be bad. Put air pressure on the switch...then you will test both the switch and pump.

I run both continuous. With a -6 return line.... no problems.

I have had a double pumper in the tank for nearly 4 years with a Hobbes switch...never a problem.

the problem is not with the feed line....it is plenty....the return line is too small to handle both pumps at less than wot

Well here's another option- just wire two Hobbs switches in parallel. A redundant backup- should be all you ever need to sleep well at night. Test them both regularly with a Mity-vac. Could run 2 seperate pressure hoses. The hoses have to be clamped, as well as the one that signals the fuel pressure regulator. Seems many leave it unclamped because they remove it often to adjust fuel pressure. Having this hose come off at full boost is not good... And be sure there are no crimped connections anywhere in the system- all soldered

I plan to get a new one on mine (just because it's old- it still works fine ) and will likely do the above rather than just replace the existing one. I use small (1/8"?) hose to keep the clutter look down in the engine bay.
