Downloaded a few songs from Kazaa, yeah, songs are already on there. Sounds pretty good. For those that don't know, Let it Be has been re-released without all the strings and crap that Phil Spector put on the album when the Beatles didn't finish it.

I've heard it alot on the radio. It's pretty good. I'm not sure though if it's just a way for Paul to make some more $. I mean it's not new ground really, just sound almost the same on a few songs.

I agree, just a record company scam. They have milked Hendrix,
Morrison and now that 1/2 the Beatles are gone they will start to find ways to exploit them.

Since Michael Jackson owns most of the song royalties he may need money for his defence. :D

Yeah old geezer here
NAW have not heard it.

But I Bet dollars to donuts PAUL will be watching Wacko Jacko incase the song catalog goes up for sale to pay the lawyer fees.

I picked up my copy on Tuesday. I do hope Paul gets the chance to buy the rights to his music back from Wacko. By the way I'm 31 years old does this classify me as an old fart?:D :D

I would say if you remember watching the Beatles live on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 that would be the requirement of being an old geezer.:D

Haven't picked it up yet, but will. I think the Beatles have always said they weren't too fond of the Phil Spector treatment on the music. Im 36, liked Paul McCartney and Wings as a kid in the 70's and started listening to some other band he was in during the 60's :)

How in the hell did Michael Jackson acquire an ownership interest in Beatles songs?

Lyonsd, Paul told him that a good investment would be to buy copyrights to music. Then when the Beatles songs came up for auction Wacko Jackson out bid Paul for the copyrights. So in the end, Paul's advice came back to bite him in the a$$. I read that Paul has tried numerous times to buy the copyrights from Jackson, but he won't return his calls. I seen interviews that were made with Paul, and he seems very bitter on the subject.

As a side note, how many of you checked out his concert when he came through the States? I took the wife along with two other friends and was very surprised. It was a great show (with tons of beautiful women in the audience).

The New York radio stations have been playing it through its entirety for the last week or so. I like the tarted-up version of "Long And Winding Road" because I guess that's the only way I've ever heard it.

Can anyone confirm that Sir Paul had changed the songwriting credits to read McCartney/Lennon instead of the other way around. If he did, then I think that's a shame.:(

Why did they come up for auction? Who had them before Jacko?

I believe Northern/EMI owned the copyrights??? (not 100% sure on this). But I do know Jackson outbid Paul and then would not talk to Paul about the subject.

Hmmmm...well, that's another item I'm going to have to put on the list of things to fix when I become King of the Universe.

  • Cut taxes
  • Eliminate emissions testing
  • Eliminate all gun bans
  • Eliminate social security and medicare
  • Give the Beatles songs back to the Beatles
  • etc...
