I almost fainted when I saw the pic on page 92 of the black regal with the big blower sticking out of the hood. It reminded me of those shirts some of the vendors sell. Luckily I saw the hood scoop and pre-84 side markers and knew it wasn't a GN.

i didn't see that, i'll have to go check it out. but did you see that there going to start covering ricers??? actually they did with the 200mph civic. At least they didn't go of talking about subs and "NOS"...why can't they call it nitrous like the rest of the normal people who know more about cars than they learned by watching fast and the furrious, i think that movie made me dumber.

I looked at the July issue of HOT ROD, couldn't find the Regal. Another cool ride to check out is Kyle Bonds mid fiftys chev pick-up in the latest Truckin' mag. It has a GN engine and trans. Real nice truck.

Its not the newest, it's the June issue. They say up front that it wasn't a GN, but painted like one. Cool car anyway. Also has a small article on a Typhoon.

Obviously, otherwise you would have said more dumb rather than dumber. :D

The July issue? They aren't putting the import articles in the ones they mail to subscribers, only putting them in the stand versions

They got a lot of letters from subscribers complaining about not getting the articles. I'll reserve judgment. They say they won't feature wings and big stereos, just fast cars that are considered imports. Just have to see.
BTW, they said they're going to put the import articles on the website so subscribers that want to read them will be able to do so.

i'll stick with CAR CRAFT. more of a grass roots american muscle car rag to me, they feature cars that "real" people drive not cars that some rich doctor or blue colar paid someone to build. hot rod is just going where the money is....rice.

Another one bites the dust.Just like Turbo & High Tech Performance, back in the day that mag was mostly Turbo Buicks,TTAs andSy/TYs.Now it's a rare occasion to see anything but rice in THTP. :(

Meanwhile...check out the current issue of Car and Driver magazine (Backfires section). This is the second letter of mine that they have published...and both mention GNs! (the first was a few years ago comparing my stock GN with a modified mustang).

At any rate, everything in paranthesis was put in by the magazine editors, including the 1984 reference. While I recognize the historic significance of the early TR's, I was really referring to the 86/87 intercooled versions.

Enjoy!
