Anybody have Car Motorsports (Atlanta Buick Specialties) Carpet?

I need carpet for my GTA and for my IROC, and some people claim that the Car Motorsports stuff is better than ACC. A lot of people complain that some ACC colors fade terribly. Not many f-body guys seem to have this brand, so I was hoping that some of the buick faithful would have more experience. What little info I've found seems to indicate that people are happy with Car Motorsports and with Alan.

Dan McDonald, aka Grumpy on this list, has a set of our carpets for an 85 Camaro. Perhaps he will post his thoughts about the carpets. Brian Shauder also bought some for his GN.

We offer our carpets in a variety of options to fit your needs. Std. carpet is $119.95 to members of this board ($129.95 on our website) plus shipping. Rubber Hazmat Backing (for sound deadening and insulation) is a $70 option to any of our carpets(adds about 20 lbs weight). We also offer a SUPER PLUSH carpet that is a 1500 series versus the standard 800 cut pile. Its twice as nice, very thick and luxurious. It is $199.95. VERY VERY Nice, but definitely not original if that concerns you.

Thanks,

Alan

Guys,

Your in luck. I had my car painted a few months ago and gutted the interior and installed new carpet from CAR (Alan F.). I took several pictures to show just how bad the ACC fades over a couple years. The wierd thing is, my car is a garage quenn and rarely sees the suns UV rays. You will see how bad it faded by the pictures. After looking all over for decent priced and quality carpet, I talked with Alan F. at CAR Motorsports. He assured me that his product would not fade due to a different dyeing process unlike ACC.

The installation went smooth and the molded part matched up great to the contours in the floor. I took some pictures of the finished product too.

That's my understand from the explanation given by the Man. The 1500 is EXTREMELY thick compared to the 800. It reminds me of the carpet used in the Buick Reatta, only even thicker than that.

The special rubber hazmat backing is optional on any and all the carpet from the old musclecar loop pile carpet to the 1500 Super Plush. Its a $70 upgrade on any and all of the carpets. So, for the standard 800 series, the rubber backed price is $189.95 ($119.95 plus $70). For the 1500 carpet its $269.95 ($199.95 plus $70).

I will email you pics of our darkest gray which is just gray enough not to be called black.

Thanks,

Alan

Yes. The current price of $129.95 (4 piece set embroidery included on fronts only) will be going up to $139.95 in 2 weeks due to manufacturing cost increases. Other GN related logos also are available including the Buick Motorsports logo and others not yet listed on the site.

We are hoping to add the logos and our new nickel plated brass logo valve stem caps/license plate screws and GN Patches to the site soon.

Thanks,

Alan

OMG That is absolutely AWFUL! I can't believe the carpet faded that badly!!!! CRAP total CRAP...... BTW, as explained to me by our Man., they believe the reason for the high quality of their carpet is two fold (1) they use high priced dye and not cheap dyes and (2) they dye the fibers before its assembled into carpet with the poly backing. They told me that once this happens, no dye is going to hold for long.

Your selling items with the power 6 right. Are you the one that bought the rights causing other vendors to pull their products with a power 6 logo ???

Yes Indeed

I was very happy with fit and quality of the carpet I received from Alan.I did do a report on it I thought so you may want to do a search. My original only had one spot in it,but I'm pretty picky so I wanted new and quality.I am a dealer for ACC and got my carpet through Alan if that tells you anything. My original is still under my bed because it's to good to heave and I don't want to sell it either.Don't know what in the world I'm gonna do with it,but hey I still got it.Anyways thumbs up on the carpet from Alan.

Nope. This is the first I've heard about the Power 6 rights being sold. What's the source of that info? I ask only because I have to pay GM licensing royalties each quarter for the various logos we use, including the Power 6, and I have not been notified by GM that I need to send my payments for that logo to someone else.

Thanks,

Alan

I read in another thread about someone buying the rights and vendors like Kirban, Jax, and a few others cant(or at least dont, for fear of being sued) list items with the power 6 anymore. Why else would someone pull a good selling product off the market??You are the ONLY vendor that does........ Sounds to me like you are the one that bought them.:(

SO ALAN:::::::THESES ARE YOUR WORDS

I've bent over backwards many times to try and help people. I've sent out product prior to being paid. Given refunds without question. Sent free products for sampling. And much, much more. I'm hopeful that at least a few people have experienced and appreciate my efforts.

IM just waiting for pics ,,,hell a responce would be fine................:D :D

I did email the pics and will try again. Can you at least send me an email to alan@carmotorsports.com again so I can be sure I'm sending to the right email address? I sent out pics of 3 different colors I took with the Digital camera.
