I have 15" GNX style rims on my car and like the look. But, they can be annoying to get cleaned up. Any tips for getting all those little nooks in these rims?? Also is there a good way to keep 'em clean?

Thanks

What I do

I have 16" Enkies which are the same. My car came with them at 2,100. I first hose them down to keep them wet as possible. Using a soft brush I litely clean through the slots.

Do One at a time. Do the edges last. rinse well.

I then use Mothers wax as often as possible.
I've kept these on because I found a new Original GN wheels.
In boxes. I plan to show these wheels this summer.
As I plan on showing the car. Have had it for 4 1/2 years.

I'm sure if you take care of them and polish the rims. They will hold up well Mine look new. HTH'ed

Thanks for the reply,

These rims are on a daily driver and collect their normal amount of brake dust and dirt. I was hoping there would be an easier way then brushing each little opening with a toothbrush. But, I wouldn't even mind doing this if I could find a way that would keep the dirt/dust managable.

I really like the looks of these rims, but cleaning them hasn't been all that fun.

:(

Are these rims painted? If not there is this stuff called Eagle One Mag cleaner, I had rims that were sitting in a yard oustide covered in brake dust, dirt, wildlife and other unknown things for 4 YEARS! So i figure its time to clean them, I used Soap + water, a steamer, some orange stuff, paint thinner, mineral spirits, stuff called Awsome (great for everything) and carb cleaner not an ounce of anything came off the rims until someone told me about Eagle one, i sprayed it on and literally in 5 seconds the dirt was coming right off, i did have to do a very little bit of scrubbing then i rinsed them off and now they look brand new................................. I was just told they make this stuff for Painted rims and chrome rims so your chances are looking up i swear by this stuff now. Another example: i have those spoke rims that came on the Regals they havent been clean in 20 years (no joke) i sprayed what i had left of the Eagle one counted to 30 rinsed them and it looked like i just bought them.
WARNING!!
WARNING!! This stuff has 3 different kinds of acids, It does burn the skin and CAN make your bones brittle:eek:

Sulfuric Acid
Hydrofluric acid
i forget the other one YOU MUST WEAR GLOVES AND I RECOMMEND GOGGLES! (This stuff sprays from the bottle weird unless mine was gimpy)

Anyway good luck and i hope this helped!

P.S. About $6-$7 a bottle used 1 bottle for 4 rims and 4 hubcaps!

Eagle One works great on T Type rims. Will they leave a whitish color on the black GTA wheels?

The rims i used it on had the inside of the stars (Cragar 5 star rim)
painted black and the Eagle one i used said not to use it on painted rims but nothing happened and there is no white color or tint or anything on them. I'm not saying it will or wont on the GNX rims but i didnt have the "white color" on mine.
