Had a recommendation to check out the System 1 oil filters and thought I'd see what folks thought of this setup. The filter is stainless and reusable and apparently offers improved oil flow without a trade-off in filtration.

I'd be trying to make it work with PTE's turbosaver remote filtration setup.

Any thoughts? Haven't found anything on this in the buick community, though it looks to be used in racing applications elsewhere.

thanks,
Scott

I have head very good things about those filters, very easy to clean and reuse, and to me look very cool. I havent head anything of them on turbo buicks but everyone at the motor shop I go to/race with uses them. Lots of NMCA super street/super mod guys. I even had one on my old 63 nova and it was just a high ten sec car. They are great oil filters but I have no TR experience with them.

Hope this helps,

Jamin

System one filter

This question was posted a couple of years ago. I replyed that I had used one and had stopped because of the lack of a check valve in the filter. It was spihoning the oil out of the filter and letting it drain back to the oil pan causing dry startups. I went back to a Baldwin B-279 and no more problems. Someone else posted that they had been using one for years with no problems.
