Hey guys, I have a front mount that was on the car when I bought it, Im curious what brand it is and a rough value, It is perfect with no damage whatsoever, The core is 24'x13"x3" I am selling it so im trying to determine a value and some info so a perspective buyer knows what they are getting, Thanks in advance, Ryan:D

If more pictures are needed to identify let me know and I can take some. I will note that the end tanks are like a hexagon flat sheets welded together, not rounded...Thanks:wink:

Charged Air Systems

Good question, we have stripped the paint off of any front mounts we have used. I don't have any hard data to back up the increase in efficiency.

They actually were powdercoated I think but Im not 100% sure on that.

fmic

i had on on my t when i bought it. the temp ran 190 to 210, replaced every thing , hoses, water pump, thermostste, rad, fans .put in a strecht sli from gbodyparts the new one , you know the polished one:D . my t run 167 and with the air on 172. it seems to respond faster spool quicker run stronger the temp. going in the motor runing at 80mph 109 to 115.comeing from the turbo the scanmaster could not read the temp it was to high. when the alky comes on you can watch the temp go down THANKS to B.W . at GBODYPARTS

I WOULD NOT PUT THAT ON MY CAR

BUT THATS ME LIVE AND LEARN:confused:

While that is a V2 the up pipe has been modded or is older than the 2000 era as it has a coupler before the 90 degree bend???

They were all powdercoated ( unless you wanted it polished ) and if you've seen the data from the intercooler tests, the CAS FMIC's had the best heat extraction across the core so it can't be hurting it much.

i dont know test they did .but it caused my car to run hot when i changed the fmic to a streched slic it ran a lot cooler 20 to 30 degres cooler

I know the original 2.5" pipes used a coupler there because they used the stock up pipe. I'm not sure about his 3" pipes. I used Cotton's 3" pipes and just cut a few inches out of the up pipe (his were too tall) in that same location, and then put my lt1 maf there :-). I've run a V2 on the street since about 1997 and yes, any front mount will make the engine run hotter than a stock location, but a few simple upgrades on the cooling system seemed to take care of it for me. It's definitely a topic that has been beaten to death on both sides, and it really comes down to personal preference.
