I get a pretty bad boost spike (3-4 PSI sometimes) with the RJC boost controller. I ended up taking it off and just using the threaded waste gate rod to turn up the boost. I'd like to have a controller that was easier to adjust though.
I also like the faster spool with the RJC controller, but I think that is probably contributing to the problem. The stock turbo spools really fast; the process of the boost passing through the controller (at 19 PSI we'll say), building up in the line and actuator itself, then pressing open the puck, and finally allowing enough exhaust to bypass the turbo to bring the boost down; that process is not instant and it can't get the turbo slowed down in time, hence the boost spike.
Anyone else have this problem and come up with a fix?
