Anyone else here drive an Avalanche?

Mine's 2wd with the Z66 and a 5.3. Im getting about 15 around town.
Its called pewter, but I call it champagne.

Mine's 2WD and I got 16.5 on the first tank (only had it a week). Interstate driving some are getting 18+ mpg with the 2WD's. The 5.3 LS1 based Vortec is very efficient and 285 hp in stock trim.

can you get the av with the duramax diesel / allison auto ? i have a 01 2500 hd and the predator computer up grade. i get 18 mpg around town and it ran 14:83 @88 mph with a 1.99 60 ft. not bad for a 7000 lb. truck. thats faster than half the mustangs and all the honda's here in vegas

I dont think so Len. Althouh the 2500 Avalanche is available with the 8100. Sounds like a nice swap, get busy !

Today I saw the first Avalanche I've ever seen without all the body cladding on it. I liked the looks. It looked like a totally different truck. I think I found my next work truck and tow vehicle all rolled into one. Now I just have to wait a year or so to get a good deal on a used '03.

I would go check em out new. With all the incentives and the great financing you may come out better buying new.
