I had a 4 wheeler accident a few months ago and broke my femur in 5 places requiring a 1"x16" rod to be placed in my leg, pinned 2" above the knee with a screw. The 4 wheeler basically stopped and slung me into the handlebars shattering my femur right at the joint. My quad has basically frozen and they put me on a machine that stretchs my leg for me called a CPM.Ive been told by doctors that I will probably never regain full range of motion on my right leg because of the trauma and because of the doc that performed the surgery put a rod in that was grossly to long(roughly 1/2")
Not really worried about that as I know doctors dont know everything and ive been told the same thing 10 years ago with my left leg.And the fact that im getting more range of motion daily with the physical therapy.
My real concern is future joint and knee pain and recovery time.Im getting around pretty well with a crutch now but its a real PITA to get in anything but a truck. The physical therapists are great and very attractive so at least ive got that going for me
