with these vents on the hood what would you do about stopping any water from getting on your engine (Besides not washing or driving the car in the rain) ?

Now that's a good question.........

Water should not be an issue if you positon them to the left of the main ridge area on the passneger side it would fall around the down pipe and burn off quickly drivers side should fall in frotn of wiper motor...again al labout measuring twice cutting once...

heck more water enters the car via the t tops! plus if you follow the gaps of your hood to the fenders that is whee water is coming in on your fan delay relay and killing it....

Besids the TA style vents we sold had a mesh in it and the opening was not that big.

Again matter of taste

^^I think the Trans Am vents to have a better shot of looking better... Just used the car in a film last night though and having a hard time wanting to mod it now. Just looked so badass and recognizeable as is, lol...

Probably because the TA vents were used on a hood to start with one reason they really look like they "belong" on a hood of a GM vehicles. Reason we chose them way back in 1988-89 when we did the first fiberglass hoods. Conleys tweaked go the very first one we did.... that was quite a mph test for our hood since it stayed on the car for those quick 1/.4 mile trips! If we made it lighter it may have posed a problem. Our hood was designed to shut and be sured the factory way.

We buy from the direct supplier Stabilus that does the hood shocks for GM and they were able to work out the pressure need to work on our fiberglass hoods since the stock hood shocks would be way to strong.
