I'm buried in it! Recently rebuilt due to grenaded O.D. planet. 1-2-3 shift okay, 3-4 shift HARSH. Rechecked band adjustment...tried loosening and tightening from manual recommendations of 120 inch lbs and back off 2 turns...didn't seem to change anything. replaced O.D. servo piston...no change. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks, John. If anyone would like to call, my number is 386-719-6814.

Hey John, lots of fun them grown up A4LD's ehh?
remember that the shift sequence is different, that thing uses OD to "split" gear ratios, so your 3-4 sift is INTERMEDIATE band release and direct apply, front band is used for 1-2 and 4-5 shifts, rear band is where you might want to look, factory says 2 turns out, maybe back it off a tad if tie-up is causing harshness, or maybe you have too large of servo in rear? I use to upgrade all A4LD's to the big pistons and covers too, but 4R55E and 5R55E are a handfull, solinoids are on/off only so shift accumulation is all mechanical and valve body(possible missing check ball or over drilling the direct clutch feed?)
Good luck.

Kevin.
