Anyone Have Experience Welding M&A Heads

I have a friend that has an M&A head the needs to be welded
back up after a piece cracked out. They are having problems with welding it due to the purosity of the casting. It seems the weld does not want to stick. Are there any secrets??? Do you know anyone that can help???
