Bought one off the board. Decided to put it on after I got a guage hooked up. Instant spool but wouldn't adjust boost level worth a damn, even with the actuator loose. Right now it's turning out to be a cool paperweight. Too bad cause I really like the power the butt dyno was seeing:biggrin:

The only time that I've ever seen Luck appear in the same post with cheap and ebay was when it was preceded by the word bad.

:rolleyes:LOL, that must be why it doesn't work worth a damn...or it's because I dont' have the wastegate hole ported on my STOCK turbo

I've always used the cheap $10 ones and still to this day have it on my GN and daily Talons.

On the GN I disconnect the Boost Solenoid all together and run a 2" hose from the turbo comp housing to the MBC and then the shortest hose possible to the wastegate actuator.

I set it to where it only adds around 2psi of boost and then do the rest with the adjustable wastegate arm. Madd spool and as long as you really open up the wastegate hole, tiny bit of spike on the hammer downs.

Old pic BTW.

If I get REALLY bored I might mess with it again. Maybe this weekend, who knows. I'd like to get it to work. THe spool was instantaneous and I loved it. Just didn't like the fact I either ran 27 lbs or have it run to 23 and back down to 14:confused:

Got it to work. Ball and spring was backwards-lol! Need to do a little bit of playing with it. It spools faster now. Just gotta cure that stupid boost spike.

I put the actuator arm back to stock length. I got a feeling it isn't going to cure the boost spike but at least I can say I tried it.

The spike is helped by the boost controller having the bleed hole in it and opening and smoothing the wastegate hole on the exhaust housing.

I like to have about 2-3psi of additional psi from the boost controller, this way I know the internal spring is being compressed. The rest of the boost increase is from the adjustable wastegate rod.

But you have a stock turbo and stock intercooler with other stock parts. That's choking off at least 8psi of comp map so if you're seeing 23psi like your other thread says, your comp wheel is really pushing around 31psi. As you alleviate backpressure on the comp side you'll see more psi at the manifold and make more power. Ideally you'd ditch the intercooler and see how much that turbo can really hold in 3rd, but the heat would be insane without E85 and twin nozzle Meth injection set on kill.

I'll re adjust things and see what happens. Looks like I have some port matching to do while I'm down for body work! If anyone has anything to add let me know
