Not sure if this is my problem or not. I pulled out the stethescope again and when reving the engine slightly the sound was louder from the front cover area than when I listened around the valve covers/intake, etc. Im thinking I should pull it off and check it out.

Has anyone heard this sound before? Will it be a slight tap/knock at idle and get louder and more IRRATIC with rpms? Will the sound kind of resonate around the engine making it hard to hear exactly where its coming from (like mine is doing)? Or will it be very obvious that it is coming directly from the front?

Well I had a bad tiking sound coming form the #1 cylinder/from the front area. It wasn't loud at idle only under load it was bad to 3500rpm and then the exhaust was to loud. So I pulled my front cover and found the chain tensioner broke and 1 bolt missing off the cam gear and the other one I took out by hand. I went with a double roller and replaced the lifter on the #1 cylinder (all my other lifters only had 1500 miles on them). I will be starting up the car for the first time since november this week my lifter pre-load was also way out of wack.
