In my search for converters, a very well known local racing trans builder turned me onto this converter outfit called Precision of New Hampton. Not to be confused with the well known Precision Industries that makes the vigilante. This builder swears by their converters, and has a lot of 700+ HP streetcars running their 9" billet lockup racing converters with great results. Another local with a twin turbo lingenfelter vette with a 700r4 has been running his converter for 4 years with a few 10 second passes and great results. Apparently this builder told be this converter has a much better lockup disc than the precision vigilante, but I don't know squat about converters. I can get one of these converters through that trans builder for around $600, which i think is reasonable for a decent converter, so I ordered one. They have a pretty nice website, too. here's a link:

So is anyone here running this converter in their buick with good results? I'd love to hear about it as I ordered one of these in!

Very good company in my opinion as well.they were also at the pri show,i listened in to a conversation between them and a prospective buyer without saying a word.

Just curious...were they giving the prospective buyer a line of BS or what??

The trans shop I work at switched to their converters about 6 years ago when dacco was having their "employment problems" and we had a rash of bad daccos. We haven't looked back, however we've only used a couple of their high performance converters (with success I might add).
