You mean 11 delta? i dont think cav scouts were grouped into the 19 series till after the war. (i think)

Maybe thats it,I know he got out not long after his tour and then went back in when I was born.

He got out as SFC when I was 11,he was the senior instructor for PLDC and BNCOC at FT Bliss when he got out then.

He tried to get back in after only a few years and they would not let him be a scout because of hearing loss.He got sent to Aberdeen to learn how to repair M1A1 tanks and was ranked a SPC,needless to say that pissed him off ALOT and he was able to get out of his contract. The CO didn't want any trouble because he had threatened my dad with the UCMJ over his CIB and combat patch,air assault wings,etc. that he didn't think a SPC should be wearing.

Long story short,Dad had mom send his old DD214 up and the CO had to eat ALOT of crow and they worked a deal.:biggrin:

and sixgun86gn, that C.O. was a moron. ANY rank can have a few skill badges, a combat patch and a CIB. thats not a rank depenant thing. Hes OBVIOUSLY a pogue, cuz as of right now, this very second, theres THOUSANDS of privates runnin around with combat patches and CIBS. which also tells me that your dad was indeed an 11 delta, instead of a 19d, cuz ONLY 11 series can wear a CIB (although many many POGUES whined and cried cuz they wanted one too, so they made this faggity little badge called the combat action badge. Its really gay too)
