Anyone own a Saturn Vue?

My wife is thinking that we need one.

Not a bad looking beast. As it would be a daily driver it will be the 2.2 with the 5-speed manual.

Anyone have experience with them?

It will be new, not used.

my girlfriend has one with the little 4 banger and the new auto transmission, its setup something like a snowmobile clutch. took a little getting used to since you never hear it shift but overall its been a good car. its got about 10K on it now and she has had no complaints other than some transmission noise which saturn has taken care of. although i'm not a fan of small 2 wheel drive suv's (glorified station wagons) i'd reccommend it to someone in the market. cant beat those rubbermaid doors either. just my $.02 aaron

aaron, what about performance? I know it won't be like my GN but with the 5-speed does it get out of its own way?

hers is not a 5 speed but the new automatic. suprisingly it will move along pretty well, especially considering the power source. i've never driven it with a 5 speed, cant imagine its much different though. aaron

I just test drove both a new '04 Saturn Vue 2WD and 4WD with the Honda V6 and 5-spd automatic. Lemme tell ya, for what they are, they got up and went. The 2WD had a fair amount of torque steer but the AWD model launched good & straight. One my test drive I had the opportunty to take a long uphill onramp onto one of our local freeways and it got up to 80 in no time.
