What plug wires tend to work best with the lest amount of interference.

Also, has anyone tried NGK plugs with luck?

Use Red Armstrong's wires. They fit great and are reasonably priced at about $25.

I have never tried NGK spark plugs. I use AC Delco R42T, clip gapped to 0.032". It's a marine spark plug with a much bigger center electrode.

I run 8 mm Magnacore's and have never had any probs. I also run the NGK UR 5 plugs gapped @ a tight .35 and love em! HTH

****I run 10 mm Magnacore's, and other than 2-3 of the plug boots ripping off the wire every time I change the plugs, I love them as much as having my hand bang an engine block after having a wrench slip off a bolt head..

I use dielectric grease, and am very careful in removing the wires by pulling on the boots only, after twisting them a tad to break the seal free too.

At least they look nice.

I've got 2 sets of Magnecore 10mm wires.

One is 7 years old one is 5.

Daily drivers, all weather conditions.

No issues and I've almost got my moneys worth out of them. :)

A good plug wire set should last about 10 years.

As opposed to changing the cheaper sets out every year.

Just my .02 and of course you should use the grease on any set.

I bought a cheap set of Bosch lifetime from AutoZone because I needed a set in a hurry, they're decent and I like the look of grey wires with black boots. They only thing is a few of the wires are a little long but not too bad.

I had Red's wires and they only lasted a few months before they started arcing and bit me. The cool thing was they sent me out a new set right away no questions asked. I can't tell you how those lasted because I went and bought the Bosch as a quick fix and kept the Red's wires as spares but I was very impressed with Red's customer service

Moral of the story....I bought two sets of cheap wires when I should have bought MSD wires up front and been done with it. ;)

MSD superconductor 8.5 MM, and never look back.......there is nothing that works better

Only The Best!!!!!

TAYLOR "409" PRO-RACE WIRE blue or red .409-inch, 10.4mm part#79624

I agree. I had Magnacore wires and they lasted 2 weeks because boots ripped off. The MSD wires have been on and off a few times wih no problems.

Ttt

These are TAYLOR wires NOT the MSD wires. the taylor wires are around $90.00 and WILL be the last set of wires you'll put on your car, cause they will last. these have been on winning race cars from NASCAR, NHRA, IMCA and SCORE they have
1) 3 layers of silicone.
2) 600-degree F of heat protection with tightly woven, heat treated fiberglass braid.
3) SLEEVING is extruded directly over 8mm wire, NO extra sleeving required.
4) 102,000 volt dielectric strength.
5) VIBRATION PROOF double -- spring locking spark-plug terminals.
6) high tech conductors SPIRO-CORE, or TCW.
7) red, blue or black
8) 100% silicone spark-plug boots BONDED to the wire.
IMO these are better than the MSD'S ( www.taylorvertex.com )

I had bad luck with MSD. They did put out a good lightning show though. I bought the MAG wires from Kirban and I like them so far. I also highly recommend Taylor wires from past experience. I use the Taylor wire sleeves on the pass side.

What kind of bad luck? Explain in detail please mine a 4 years old, never had a problem?

On the 8mm solid core MSD plug wires that are custom fit for GN- bought from Autozone. They arc pretty bad on my car.

Also, I've recently read in my Turbolink manual(troubleshooting section) and on MSD's website(on the DIS-4 product info page) not to use solid core plug wires.

They both recommend spiral core. That is why I just switched to Taylor Thunderbolt 50 (TAY-98024) custom fit wires. The MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires are an equivalent and probably work just as good as the Taylor. With the new wires and GM ignition parts I hope to not have any more ignition misfire.
