Vic Morrow also played the cop in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry ,another great car movie.

Not a lot of Turbo Buicks would make that run successfully............. :D

Martin Sheen is trying his hardest to look and act like James Dean. Great movie. What a movie should be.:)

Wow. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I watched it again. Cool movie. Thanks for the link!

Loved the movie and thanks for the link! I pay attention to the little details and was wondering if anyone noticed that at 6.55 it had a SBF in it and at 6.58 it had a SBC :)

Being a Bonneville guy, I noticed the SCTA (Southern California Timing Ass.) sticker on the windshield. Noticed the hot waitress too.:D

Originally made by Pete's & Jake's Custom Cars in or around Bell, Ca in about '73-'74.
It made the cover of Rod & Custom magazine after the build & the producer of the
upcoming movie "The California Kid" saw it and wanted the car for his movie, and
the rest is history. The current owners of Pete's & Jake's is now located somewhere
in or around Missouri or Kansas & still manufactures & retails popular custom car parts.
I believe that they currently own the car. That car was the only one made & did all of
it's own driving & stunts for the movie.

I wonder if the sheriff's blue and white 1957 Plymouth Belvedere still exists? I know it crashes near the end of the movie but is it possible that there might have been two of them? (which is sometimes the case in movies where cars get destroyed)…

Claude. :)
