Still trying to pick my new turbo. Leaning towards the GT32 but considering the 61.

I am wondering if anyone has the 61 and still using their stock converter?

will not spool with a stock converter:) 3000 bare minimum stall otherwise it will take too long to spool

I have a GT-61. You need 3000 stall, 3200 would be better IMO.

I have the gt61 and stock conv. and it sucks, 5 psi max at the track. going to a 32-3400 stall.

I've got a 61 with a 2700 stall and can spool up to 12# on the brake but takes just a hair too long to get there unless you start with the first stage light then ease into the 2nd light. But my 61 has a much smaller exhaust wheel than the normal TE61 or PT61, its a 31E wheel. I put a TE60 with the same exhaust wheel on my TTA which does have the stock convertor just to see how it would handle and its not much different than the stock as far as spool up, could only get 5# with the stcoker, and I get 4# with the TE60, no track times yet but will as soon as they open in a couple of weeks. My TTA doesn't spool anything like the GN did with the stock turbo, don't know why. I'd say the turbo I have would be perfect with a 3000 stall.
BTW, I've ran 7.23@96 with the GN with this turbo and 1.66 60' with hardly any tuning.

I'd reccomend the GT61 over the 32.

Stock converter will not cut it - get a nice 3200. Be prepared to have a huge smile on your face the first time you nail it.:D
