Anyone running a GT6868?? I was thinking about ordering one with a .63 exhaust for fast spool up. I'm running a 3200 stall so I think I should have enough converter.... This is for a street car, I need drivability and fast spool more than anything, otherwise I'd just buy a 70GTQ-DBB and be done with it.

Would like to tickle a low low 10 on pump gas and alky, I'm guessing around 25psi. I bought a GT6765 but I'm not sure if that will have enough steam to get the job done. The engine is pretty well built. Ported Champion GN1s, Ported GN1 newstyle intake, 214/210 billet roller, ATR headers, dual nozzle alky, PTE FMIC, bla bla bla. All the good stuff.

Any informed input is appreciated

Noone seemed to want to answer it there, so I thought I would ask here

I seriously doubt any have made it out to the public yet. Or if they have, I haven't read of any results yet. If memory serves me correct, that is a brand new turbo that PTE recently released, with their new wheel technology. In the past, both Cal and Mike Licht would get beta units for testing and R&D on real world applications, before being released for sale to the public. Maybe they can chime in with any results.

But, just going on what I know, technically, it should out perform the mighty 67 series turbos and still have decent spool up characteristics. With your goals of bottom 10s and your combo, I forsee at least 26-28psi on any 67-68mm compressor wheel. Especially if it's still a 231-235 CI production motor in a 3550+ lb car. I could be wrong, but that's my guess. I'd couple this turbo with one of Dusty's 9.5" PTC 3400-3500 stall converters and have some fun.

Thanks for the info, Patrick! I thought Mike Licht said he had these in stock back when I bought the GT6765 a couple months ago, but I could have been mistaken. Either way, I guess I'll have to wait for them to produce this. I don't think my car will be back on the road this season anyways, so I can be patient. I just want something with a little more snot than the 67 series.

Be done w/ it then!!!! I run a gtq70dbb on the street and it spools like a mother-fer!! I drive the car 90 miles round trip to work when it's not broke. I went to this turbo from a 67dbb. It spools better and makes a ton more power. I haven't had it to the track yet, but I expect high 9's. Call Mike Licht. That's where I get my turbo's. Don't be scared of the 70, it's VERY streetable. Shooting for mid 9's, I'm sure it will git 'er done! Dave
