My father and I were eyeing through this months Hot Rod Magazine and came upon something we have never seen or heard of and with the turbo buicks i would think a lot of people would have this. Either i dont know about anyone having them or i am just a second hand learner.
I have always had a lot of issues with my GN since we bought it, nothing major but just things that trouble us. When we go to the track the dipstick is almost out of the engine by the end of the run. We have had the car to a GM specialist and the cars engine is trouble free. No reason to burn oil but we still go through a quart of oil every 100 miles, AND THE ENGINE IS SOUND. We put in the SMC alk kit for hopes that we could boost up the stock PSI a lot more and run very strong on the streets. All we have found out with Alk injection is that we got into more trouble then we can handle. We have a knock sensor with 3 amber lights and 4 red lights (red for severe knock). after having the car go through the GM mechanic we headed to Caspers (only about a 5 min drive from my house) to try to solve the knock by timing the chip. Got the new chip back and all that we have found is that we touch the throttle and the red lights are all lit like a X-mas tree. So this week we are going to go to some GN/Turbo specialist who charges $100 an hour to work on ur turbo engine to try to find out problems u need fixing. The shop is run by Oswalt (anyone heard of him?)
Well here is a link to the site that has the vacuum pump and some info hopefully either i have stumbled upon something that could help us out or just a person that has stumbled upon old news
