Just had a 3600 ext installed,be ready to test soon:)
You do not use the 6 bolt on a T/R Buick you get a 3 bolt.

6 bolt mounting lugs, proably about $900

Did you get the posi-lock up clutch too?
what STR did you get? 2.5 or 2.7? 245mm?
please post your gains after you run it.

Nearing,
I ordered the 3600 as per catalog. Only hope lock-up occurs at the optimum point because this is controlled by reaching a torque supplied figure. You can lock the converter electronically, but i have a fast system and it will not do this.

I'll post results soon i hope.

not gonna bash them but my buddy's 2001 LS1 camaro has blown up 2 yanks resently ...car is on all motor and no motor work just bolt ons and runs 11:50's

just letting you guys know

he sent it back the first time and they either rebuilt it or sent him another one and it started acting up the first week it was back in the car

im not sure if he's done anything about it yet since i havent seen him in about two weeks.

he was saying that it was a 36-3800 and he had pulled a hard holeshot with it and it was stalling somewhere around 48-4900 after that.....oops and said it had started vibrating??

i dont know anymore about it..it could have been a fluke since i know plenty of other guys running yanks in LS1 cars with no problems. but they are mostly in the 12's:confused:

Thanks, Red...please keep us posted.

I hope all works out well real quick for your friend. :)

Well, It sounds like Red's friend and I are in the same sinking boat :(

I went to the track recently and was leaving on 10psi. 60's were not as good as I thought they would be, top end was down several mph and now the converter is stalling about 1000 rpm higher than it was before. Now that youve mentoned vibrating, I have also noticed my idle is considerably rougher than it was and when I rev her up to @2k rpm there is a distinct vibration. After hearing about your friends double trouble I am starting to think I should just cut my loses and get an extreme/lock-up from Bruce.

FYI.. Converter is a GN Turbo Thruster 2800 w/kevlar clutch.

I have a turbo thruster 3000 with the standard clutch. No high boost launches, yet, but it runs/drives great.

If you're having trouble, you should give them a call. I'm sure they will set things right.

Red's.... which model Yank had the failure?

I like mine a lot.

Bob

 Hmmmm... makes me wonder now. I've got a yank 3000 in my 98, goes up to about 5k on a 150 shot, too much torque I think for it to handle.

im not sure what converter he has other than its a yank...i'll see if i can get it touch with him and get more info..

he's more of a person i hang out with at the car hangouts than somebody i see everyday.

no your thinking of Keith i bet he has the red ss that's been bottom 10's on gas and11 teens on motor...nope not his

his car is being parted out now..:( ..motor dropped a valve on the interstate from what i heard i havent seen him since it happened to find out the details but i know some guys that have bought stuff from him off the car.

Man Red small world yea I know Keith somewhat, sorr to hear about his car, that thing was a screamer! He use to drive the guys on the old Ls1.com crazy with his times. (What!? it wasn't built by MTI......it can't go that fast!) Sorry to hear about his car, I was kinda wondering about him, he seemed to drop off the face of the earth.
No I was thinking of another guy off the Enterprise Keith hung out with, I think he had a 2001 formula with a yank 4600 or something crazy big like it,stock motor in the 11.80's or so.
Did you get anything relolved with P** about your turbo?
I was there at VMP the night it "chipped a tooth"
Scott.

:D yea chipped a tooth..:D

dam sure smoked the track out good didnt it..

i remember you now..:o ..B Mason was fiddling with the laptop on your car.

i hope i didnt come off as an azz you must figure i was pretty pissed after the night and day i had..

2 of the turbo's should be back today from getting analized by Garrett and the guy has wrote a report about his findings but for some reason is being very slow about releasing the info. i talked to John Craig today about it and he says he hasent got the info from Garrett yet but the report was written last week..

so for now im twiddling my thumbs and waiting the results

i do know that when John took my 51 turbo's into Garrett that there was a couple of them already there and i found out that atleast one more came while mine was there and from what i was told is they all had the same failures..the words that i was told is
"they are mirror images of each other"

so looks like we're onto something just makes me wonder why the info hasent been released.

the LS1 car is a white 2001SS it runs at richmond and at vmp pretty regularly guys name is Joey he was running 11:60's for a while on motor but is now in the 11:50's and last i talked to him he was starting to put a roll bar in it.

once i get another GOOD turbo on my car i plan to go back to the track and lay down some #'s with it before i pull it out to go in my elcamino so maybe we can meet up when im in a better mode..:)

well its 5 in the morning and i need to get some rest talk with ya later...RED

Naaa Red you didn't come off as an ass.
I could see you were having some turbo problems even with my very limited Buick knowledge
not the time you want to talk to the newbe
Let me know next time you go to VMP.
Scott.
