i am looking to upgrade to a better intercooler and i have been looking at the v4s stock location 13 row intercooler, anyone using one. it says it can go into the low 11's which is pretty much my goal and it fits into my budget.

i dont have one but if the stock ones can take you to the 11's im sure the upgraded ones could definately do the same and better.:)

11.14@118.5 was acheived with stock IC w/ big neck. I have heard of somebody going like 11.0's w/ a stocker

i dont know. i would say mid to upper 11's. when i get into low 12's/hi 11's i am going to upgrade to put less stress on other parts and to avoid detonation and to have a bigger safety net. a hi performance unit is made for exactly that, hi performance. thats why i will switch when the time comes. IMO:)

My personal experience with the V4S was that it was a nice piece, but the fit was a problem.

I'd go big neck I/C mod. Mease Perf. does a really nice job on these.

I have the V4S...it's on my 87 GN which never sees the track...just a weekend warrior that sees street duty...car shows...etc...the only fitment problem I had was on the drivers side...it was leaning to that side a little so I drilled another hole in the bracket to straighten it out...other than that perfect fit...plus I like the bigger necks as opposed to stock...I gained 2 PSI boost without changing anything else...mine is different though than the one Tony normally does...I asked him if he could make one up to utilize the stock passenger bracket instead of the standard V4 pass side bracket...

I took my V4 and, for a few more $, made it quite a bit larger, substantially reducing the charge air temperature.

Then, I moved it up front of the radiator where it could get all the nice, cold air it needed, wouldn't suffer from heat soak, and was far, far easier to install (no brackets, no alignment problems, fits impeccably, gets rid of a box car full of clap trap on the front of the motor).

I call it a V2...

:D
