hi i was wondering if there was a way to change the shift points on my 87 GN. it shifts high at like 54-5500 and at that point we all know that they are out of breath. i am wanting it to shift at like 4900-5000 to keep it in the sweet spot. i can try to manually shift it but that doesnt help, and i dont want to put a manual valve body.

have you tried to adjust the kick down cable?

1. T/R's don't have a kickdown cable
2. The TV (throttle valve) cable (what you're probably thinking of) only affects part throttle shifts.

Depends on which gears it's too high. In lower gears, 1st and 2nd, add about 2-2.5 grams to the primary weight (the large one) on the governor. In higher gears, add about 1 gram to the secondary weight (small one).
