arrow on the maf which way

i have an lt1 maf so which way should the arrow point ?? toward the air cleaner or toward the intake.
i ask this as i was watching a vid on you tube and they said and this ones installed backwords, but thats the way mine is. so if backwards what would that do to the cars running ?? thanks

the arrow goes towards the engine- it shows which way the air flows.
