I just bought an Art Carr deep cast aluminum pan and a 700R4 filter to go into it. I was fitting evering thing together and was wondering if you had to mill down the filter stands in the bottom of the pan to make the 700R4 filter work? I have searched old threads and some people say you do and some say that you do not and I was wondering if anyone has tried it without milling them? I have dry fitted my pan with the filter and it seems to fit just fine with all the stands intact. I moved the spring one bolt forward in the valve body and even when I push down hard on the filter without the pan on it doesn't contact the 4th gear switch. I am just trying to get all the information that I can before I ruin a brand new tranny. Thanks to all in advance.
