Ashtray bulb?

Did our cars have ashtray lights? I keep running across bulbs for our ashtray. Didn't know we had one.

I just had my console out to fix my shifter and I didn't notice anything for a light?

Maybe it's for the column shift cars.

Most NA regals that had Bench seats or 55/45 seats had ashtray under the radio. The bulb was actually in the radio bin with a cap on it so it would shine down.

Light in console is for the gear indicator

To be more precise I should've said
no light in the center console storage
there is also an empty socket that can be found under the radio pod ahead of shifter
I think that was for the ashtray light for column shift cars.
