Ashtray Switchplates

Has anyone out there ever installed a switchplate for the ashtray in their Turbo Buick?

I believe I have seen them in a three switch or five switch configuration. They are commonly used for fan switches or torque convertor lock-up switches.

I was interested in hearing some comments from my fellow Turbo Buick lovers before I purchase one.

Have you enjoyed them?

Are they perfect for what they are used for?

Are they a mother to install?

Are they a waste of time and money?

Just thought that I would get your ideas and experiences. Is there a need to have more than three switches? Etc.

Please enlighten me...

Yup, if you want quality get Marks switch. Ultra easy! I made one out of black plastic myself and it was good until I tried to add 4 switches. Then I saw another car with Mark's plate and got jealous and ordered one of my own. Get more switches than you need in case you ever want do do something else like electric exhaust.

As a side note, I was just thinking how cool it would be to have one of those toys R us shopping sprees where you get 2 mins to grab everything you can at Marks house.

I made mine, real easy to do. Wiring is pretty easy.

Here's a link to a folder with some pics. of mine for the GN.

Might give you an idea for some switches and LED combos.

Kevin can do the hole for the Caspers Hi/Lo switch kit as well with LED's so you know which speed it's on at all times, even lights up with factory chip and A/C control if you wire it right.

Reset for Knock-gauge startup switch

Mark here is the man...I have SEVERAL parts from him, ashtrya panle is one of them. PERFECT FIT, great looking super product again!
