Looking to strengthen things up and get more out of her.

Any suggestions/ kits out there?

Thanks Joe

Have you read the sticky above? They give you some ideas. Also, you might consider Chris' manual on the 200. It runs about $70.00 from CKPerformance.

Ok i will read it again, then get back to post here

Thanks Joe

Both Chris and Lonnie of Extreme automatics offers parts and advice if you can catch them by phone, especially during their busy season.

What are you starting with? Newly rebuilt, stock, high/low mileage, shift slipping, not shifting? Many things can be done, but are you trying to put 2 or 3 or more times as much hp/torque through as stock?

Trans was rebuilt a while back i was told. I bought everything together in pieces. Car needs put back together. It was someones resto project, so thats why I'm going the mile in replacing/upgrading parts for race ready.

Grumpy, I'm looking to run 11.0s

Thanks Joe

First thing on a low mile untouched bone stock trans would be a shift kit...simple one is california performance transmission high tech valve body kit. Also, add a .500 boost valve to the pump and a big ext cooler. That setup will handle low 12's high 11''s. Its death will eventually be the stock splines on stator stripping or the directs causing a 2-3 flare.

So far all i've bought for it is a super servo.

I have also read that a deep pan, filter and pick up kit will help

Thanks Joe

Well turbojoe,I just put in a monster in a box rebuild kit in mine, works great(eatmyshift.com),but watch out for that super servo.it will give you a hard down shift fr 3-2 an I mean hard.

TRY-ME!!!

My trans is stock. Ran it with the stock turbo at 23 for almost 2 yrs. Installed a gt35r p-trim over a year ago and ran the same boost. Last summer I put in a bar and plate cooler, biggest you can get. Also put in a 35 dollar gil younger improver kit and a 3k stall. Trans still shifts firm and doesn't miss a beat. I have a spare 87 monte ss trans I plan on having gone through and either put hardened parts in or if $$$ allows, go with better parts.

I hear ya, im looking leaving hard and shooting for 25+ psi with mods.
I have dropped 400lbs tho

Thanks Joe

hey we ran 10.10 with a shift kit and an Art Carr hardened drum. BUT after the racing season i had a buddy with a mid/low 11 sec car that needed a trans right away so I lent him mine.. It broke on him !! Random victim SOB.. So you can go fast on the cheap side BUT when your stranded on the side of a busy highway at night with cars flying by ya at 80 mph waiting for a tow truck reality does rear it's ugly head :p

Righto, Norwalk is 40 mins each way, id rather brake at the track then on my way home at 11pm.
Im looking to use my buddies flat bed the 1st couple times out.

Thanks Joe
