IS this going to cause a problem of false knock, I just swapped my postens for a set of atr headers, the downpipe now seems to swing out a bit more than before and seems to be resting on the frame just before it dips down the the cat. Anyone else have this problem. Now I am even having a problem lining it up with the rest of the exhaust!

Looks like your motor mounts needs replacement. It shure will cause false knocks.

Great yet another damper on my project? Engine mounts? They have less than 5k miles on em.

I sent back the DP and ATR installed a new version pipe (different bends) section that doesn't hit and it fits great! Gene

How long did it take from the time you sent it to them to the time you got it back?

Also, did they use your original downpipe and just "fix" it? Reason being it had a 3" cat that I just "accidentally" gutted like a fish!:D

I've had trouble with three diferent 3" downpipes. They came from, The first (I forget), Terry Houston pipe and now the ATR. Another thing ; Seems every aftermarket piece needs a "little coaxing" to fit right.

I got one of those BGC 3 inch down pipes and it was a pain to install. It touched the frame till I took my .005 thousanths HAMMER and it doesn't touch any more.
After I installed it I saw JOHN from BGC at the nats one year and I told him if he lived close to me, I would of drove past his house and thrown it thru his ****ing window. You should of seen how fast he walked away from me. :D

I called ATR today, and the lady proceeded to tell me she wanted to fax me this "common problem" list. So I told her to go ahead. Did you get this list. I left my fax off so I dont have it. She said after I go through it and there is still a problem, to call them monday and see what the manager wants to do. The problem is the damn crossover clamp is hitting the downpipe. The damn downpipe needs to sweep out more from the turbo. There is plenty of room. This is an obvious fix. If they dont fix this for me, I'm gonna unleash the verbal terror! :)

Watch out for the hard lines where it is hitting! Mine did the same thing.

ATR headers and 301 DP without the wastegate piping. My wastegate is on the crossover. I bought some heat insulation and hose clamped it over the area to soften the certain vibration and insulate those lines. Make sure you aren't flattening the lines there.

Well I checked it over yet again, and it is the clamp on the crossover that is the obvious culprit. I do have it turned so the flat side is hitting it (to give the most room) yet it still touches. I seem to have it completely bolted to the turbo but I still thing the clamp is keeping it from coming in more to clear the frame. As I said before, this downpipe fit fine with my poston headers. I think the easiest way to modify it is to just reweld at the sweeping part. If they tell me I have to send these headers back im gonna be pissed. I aint taking these off again

Yeah, but ATR created the problem they should fix it. There is no reason it shouldnt fit. In fact, I happend to look under the car and the cat is like over an inch and a half off to the left of the exhaust now. (The cat is welded to the Downpipe) So now exhaust fitment would also be a problem. The clamp is keeping it from moving towards the drivers side to fit. This shouldnt be a problem because the downpipe fit fine with my postons headers.
