Was going to start installing a set of stainless ATR headers I bought off a board member, but visually it looks like there will be a clearance issue with my Terry Houston D/P? Has anyone installed these headers and had clearance problems? Thanks in advance for any help or info.
Brad

There are two designs if TH DPs. Tertty made a DP specifically for ATRs. The reach coming out from the turbo was longer. For where the bend was, it was almost touching the fenderwell.

I have ATR headers and I believe a TH D/P. I know this isn't the best picture but it should show the length and sweep from the turbo

Thanks for the info and the pics. Will compare when I get off work today. If I have the "shorter" D/P am I screwed?

If you mean shorter as in pulling the the down pipe closer to the header, yes.

There is less than 1/4" between my header and the D/P if you have a similar setup.

The only way to know for sure is to mock it up.

the ATR version almost touches the fenderwell

Can you tell what D/P I have?

It is at least about a 1/4" away from the inner well on one side and almost touches the header on the inside literally.

I always wondered which D/P it was as the PO couldn't tell me.

from the picture taken from the front you have the standard version the bend at the turbo is way too far away from the fenderwell, sorry

Why are you sorry? Is it a crappy D/P?

I know it's only a 3" D/P but it's getting the job done so far.

It is a great downpipe one of the best but it wont work with the ATR headers at all

RJC DP will work with ATRs.......

I don't even run headers, I just run 6 small turbos/ one for each exhaust port. You should see the THDDDDDDPs.

I don't think so.....I recall reading where some members tried the RJC DP but would not fit with the ATR headers.

I used to have a set of Kenne Bell Headers (same design as the ATR's).....my THDP would not fit & since I could not find an ATR DP , I found SE Turbo made their DP's in two versions...I ordered their longer sweep DP made to fit ATR/KB headers. It worked well.
However, not sure that they are in business any longer, nor would I recommend dealing with them. You can get a GN1 Performance Pipe for ATR's, but it's externally gated....if you want an internal gated DP there's only 3 choices:
1) the very rare long sweep THDP made for ATR's,
2) An ATR DP,
3) SE Turbo DP (the model made for ATR/KB headers.

You are completely incorrect!!! I Just sold my ATRs and I used an RJC DP with them. Which I also just sold. So yes they will work. This is why some many people have issues. They seem to read something and then they know it all or have all the facts. But whom am I!!!!! I don't know anything about these cars........ JUST SAYING

As I posted above...my RJC DP wouldn't fit with ATR headers. I bought my DP directly from RJC...and my friend bought the headers from ATR when they were in business.

Glad I came across this post as I bought a pair of ATR's recently that I had coated at Swain Tech and I have an RJC DP.
