i bought a atr 3" single shot system from a local guy and i am having problems putting it on. my problem is that there isnt enought room between the rear end and the long part for the elbow that goes over the rear end. i was thinking that this might be because he was useing a test pipe that is shorter then my catalytic converter. is this possible? do i need to shorten the long pipe? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff-

I had one on my GN that I sold to Sweden. That car was using the THDP with a shorter test pipe that is on my current car. I have no idea though how long it was since I never measured it.

BTW: You will like the Single Shot. It is noisy but definitely a power maker. :D

i gorgot to mention the THDP that i have on the car. mine will be plenty loud. especially since the cat, is more like a test pipe then a cat. it was a 3"pipe welded through the center. so it is really a test pipe that looks a lot like a catalytic converter. does anyone know if i need to trim the long pipe?

reply to "iamjeff"..

In order to make the ATR Single Shot system to fit nice, I had to cut about 1 in. from the long pipe coming from the catalytic converter, because the curved pipe that goes above the rear axle was touching the front of the axle...Cutting the long pipe moved everything forward a bit , just enough to make it clear the rear axle....That's it!...
Hope this helps!....

thanks claude. that is exactly what mine is doing. i figured i would have to cut it off, but i wanted to check and see if there was some kind of trick to get it to fit correctly. thanks a lot.

ok...i got all of the exhaust up there, and it looks to be about 6 inches too long! i have a 3" atr dp, stock cat with a 3" pipe wleded doun the center of it, pitbull muffler. this system came off of a ttype with a test pipe and im not sure what kind of dp, but i know it has an external wastgate. does anyone have any idea of why thre would be such a huge difference? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi jeff...Claude again here....I read your post, and I'm surprised to see that you have about 6 in. too long!!! If I were you, I would measure everything very carefully, and if it turns out that you really have to remove 6 in. well, go ahead and cut it...After all, it's just a pipe...The important thing is to make sure that the bend above the differential is at equal distance at the front and the rear of the axle....Other that that, I don't any problem...Get back to me if you want to see a few pictures of it on my car...I might have a few...You can e-mail me if you like....
'bye!
