Didn't know where else to post this but I thought you all might be interested:

New Jersey Assembly bill 3425, which would have seriously restricted racing at most racetracks, was withdrawn from consideration. Under the proposal, introduced by Assemblymen Michael Panter (D-12th) and Robert Morgan (D-12th), no motor vehicle could be operated on a racetrack that is within a mile of residential housing before 11 a.m. or after 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and before 11 a.m. and after 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Violators would face fines of $2,500 for the first offense, $5,000 for the second offense, $10,000 for the third offense, and $25,000 for the fourth and subsequent offenses.

Track operators say that this proposal would have essentially shut down certain forms of racing in the state as it would be virtually impossible for clubs or promoters to run successful dirt-track or motocross events.

The AMA is not opposed to reasonable hours of operation for racing facilities. But, such regulations, if necessary, should be worked out at the local level among the track operator, neighboring property owners and local government.

Proposed by which Party? :p

Now it's time to vote these clowns out of office.

This is New Jersey....Nothing BUT clowns sadly.:(
Just look at some of the Liberal clowns that post here!
(oops! Did I say that???);)

I say if the track was there before the houses they can go eat a dikc !
People bring this on them. (tuesday morning home hunting) "Oh look honey there as nice house next to that 1/4 mile rd that goes no where". Hmm.. I guess we will buy it. No one will drive on the road that goes nowhere.
2 months later ... Muffy can't stand all those bad boys in loud cars you allow in our heighborhood !!!they just keep driving down the 1/4 mile rd all the the noise and my flowers won't grow. WTF !!!!

   most tracks have been around long before all the developments. Don't like the noise move !!!

I Agree 110% !!!!!!!!!!

I really believe there should be a grandfather clause of some sort. Anybody that buys or builds a house near a track that is already in existance should have NO right to complain about it.

i have a airport 1 street away it's been there my whole life and i never complained about the noise because like you guys said it was there before i was there. or how about shutting down the rail system that goes by peoples houses near the tracks all times of the night how would people like that if we got toghther and tried closing down the trains becuse they were noisy or shook your house. or there have been a few planes in my life that crashed into the neighboring houses around the airport should we try to close them down?? if you don't like race tracks, airports or trains don't live near them plain and simple
