Did not want to muddy up the thread, so started a new one.

Just got of the phone with Autometer tech support, and the listed operating temp range for their fuel pressure sender is -40C / 105C.

According to the tech: "Large pressure spikes will ruin the sensor as well such as in diesel applications."

In general terms,

Not autometer specific but another (industrial) mfg says :
A 100 PSI sensor usually has an over pressure of 200% associated with it, meaning it will be able to withstand 200 PSI.

re damage:
....Most sensors will exhibit a higher than normal output at zero pressure (a zero shift). This occurs because the diaphragm can not return to zero. In severe cases no output occurs or the output does not change with an increase in pressure. ......If a diaphragm does have a slight zero shift, less than 10%, it probably is still linear and can be used.
