I just purchased an Autometer Widebad, P/N 5978 and the instructions state to install it 4-5 inches from the turbo. From what I have read, normally GN's need them installed 18 to 24 inches from the turbo @ 10 or 2 o'clock. Which one should i go with? The manufacturer's distance or the normal distance?

Thanks in advance.....

As far down as is comfortable. At least 12".

Thanks for the response. I welded the bung a little before the last bend before the cutout. It turned good, thanks

The autometer gauge has a Brown Wire in its harness that is for the Optional Peak/Recall & Warning WOT Switch. It connects to the Wide Open Throttle Switch and Is required for the Peak Recall Functionality. Do I need this option or wire to be hooked up? If so, which wire on the TPS do I hook up to?

The Brown Wire(Optional Peak/Recall & Warning WOT Switch): is an option if you want to use this but you need to install a micro switch switch if you choose to do so. I have the same Auto Meter wideband and I don't use the brown wire, But I did place the mounting sensor as per Auto Meter instruction: "Turbocharged applications should have sensor installed 4-5" after turbo on the down pipe".

Thanks for the input, looks like I will not be using the Brown wire.

I have already installed the bung. I would have to.get another bung welded in to place it per the manufacturers instructions. I wonder if my readings will be off or wrong if I decided "not" to move the sensor 4-5in after the turbo and keep it where it is?
