yes that is what they do. BUT I will tell you no matter who you get it will not be cheap for enclosed. it's about double for enclosed. one company I must warn you about is Swift transport they have one the worst safty records out there.
if I'm not mistaken (this was before fuel hit the stupid price), open was about .90 per mile & enclosed was 1.80 per mile. if it was later (like winter) I might be interested in that, just to see CA.

i jsut requested a quote from intercitylines.com... i guess i'll wait and see.. i'm looking to spend around $1500.... side note, i'm still driving across country with my Lightning trailering my 300zxTT.. So i'm looking to shell out about $850 in fuel there..

I'm thinking with fuel @ over $3.oo, it will cost you about double that for open transport. let us know when you get a reply. a few of us were thinking about going to Vegas, they wanted to rent a car hauler trailer & me haul it but I found some one with a car hauler to haul 8 cars, stay in Vegas & bring them home for about $8,000, which at the time was a deal. again that was before fuel got stupid.

I have used Passport Transport in the past with excellent results. However, I believe they have been purchased by FedEx so I can't vouch for them.

i just got the quote from intercitylines.com..... it's not that bad... here it goes, my buick with $150,000 insurance with NO deductible is $1,710 (enclosed trailer), a fuel surcharge of $120.. totaling $1,830.. this was from Baltimore to Long Beach..

Side note, with that insurance dollar amount i think i could pay off all the performance bills... LOL

I used D.A.S., www.dasautoshippers.com, to ship my GN from Texas to PA. The car was shipped enclosed and arrived early, not to mention I was able to track the transports movements and the vehicle was insured for $50,000.00. I paid about $900.00. I was very pleased with them.

Not too bad at all for Intercity.

I used them to ship my GNX from Utah to NJ....they are an absolute class act. Cover the car with two covers, Liftgate, plus the rigs are super clean and HUGE!

i'm thinking about using them in a month or two.. i wanted to hear from you guys about the companys out there.. i just didn't want to have a Billy Bob pull out my baby in the middle of no where and do 15 pound drops off the trans brake  ..
