Can anyone tell me what Autozone's rebuilt PM comes with?? Accumulator?? Pressure switch??

It seems so cheap compared to brand new units!!!

thanks

Comes with everything including a life time warranty. My first one the motor did not work. The replacement is working perfectly.
Good Luck,
Jeff

I got mine from discount auto parts for about 199.00 U.S. + 50.00 core. Its been working great since last summer. Its a cardone rebuilt unit. BTW i am in Canada too. Comes complete with everything !!

Yulk!

I scringe everytime I see these AZ posts. But thats ok I guess. As long as you guys are happy cause I know Cardone is!!

Hank,

I am seriously considering buying one of your motor!!! What can you do for us Canadians... eh!!!! I know its free shipping in the states.

I was asking about the AZ PM because there was a "1 year old used " rebuilt unit on EBAY last night that I was bidding for. I assumed it was a Cardone unit and I wanted to make sure I did not overbid....

dave

ps: you can email me directly with your response if you want.

hi dave, My email isn't working for some reason !!! I am in Newmarket, Ontario.

The cardone unit was complete with everything and is working perfectly, was a little tricky to install, i had alignment problems with the brake pedal pin, may be easier if you remove the brake pedal prior to installation. I had it sent via Post.
It ended up being about $450.00 cdn by the time you factor in exchange etc. I still have my old powerMasher here :D

My PM went out on me about a week after I bought the car. First place I called was a buick dealership, $1,200. So I went to Autozone. I think I paid about $250 for it. Had no problems installing it. And it hasn't given me any problems at all. Plus it has the lifetime warranty.

By the way it is a complete unit. You simply take you old one off and bolt the new one on.

The Wagner part number is 529702. Wagner actually makes/remans these, and Cardone purchases them from Wagner to rebox and resell. Either way, it's the same unit. I have contacts at Cardone who verified this for me. The Cardone is the same, but with an additional suffix or prefix added to it.

You should be able to get the unit at AutoZone, O'Reilly, and various other aftermarket retailers. The good thing is, they do come with a limited lifetime warranty. However, keep in mind they are not "stocked" items, and you should allow for some delay time for any retailer to get it from their DC or Hub stores.

They do come completely assembled and ready to bolt on. It took me about 3 hours the first time, and 2 the second time. It's fairly straight forward.
Hope this helps ya'...

O'Reilly got one "next day" for me to look at. Wasn't very pretty but it was complete. A lot cheaper than most places but I went with vacuum.:)

Autozone parts are cheap for a reason. They are gauranteed pieces of crap. You simply get a fresh piece of crap everytime you change it. That is gauranteed for life.
One rule of thumb for Autozone is.. If it moves or conducts electricity it is a piece of crap.

Well, in the past I would agree with your statement, but now can dispute it. 10 years ago, when AutoZone was trying to overtake the aftermarket parts retail business, they did sell lower quality parts at very cheap prices. However, they've learned some things from that, and now that they are the largest aftermarket parts Retailer in the US, they have the purchasing power and collateral to buy better stuff and still sell competitively. I work hand in hand with AutoZone, have met with them corporately twice in the past 6 months, and believe they have "upgraded" when it comes to many of their products. If you are buying a PowerMaster from them, and it says Cardone or Wagner, then you are getting the same piece that any other retailer offers. It's as high of quality as can be offered, per the remanufactured versions. There are only a few Manufacturers that make or refurb these units. Raybestos, Wagner, and Cardone. I would run any one of these personally.
Your other option is to do what so many others have done, and covert to the old vacuum style system, and be done with it.

Anyway, my point about AZ is that if you're making your claim or analysis on issues you had from years back, you might want to give em' another shot. I used to work for two other competitors of AZ, and used to make the same statements you've made,,, but I now have some further insight into it, having been working in and with the aftermarket retailers for the past 6 years. Anyway,,, just FYI. I'm not trying to sell you anything...:)

No problems with the Cardone unit i put in last year at all, rock solid so far , looked good out of the box. Don't slag the great Powermaster.....:)
