I have awful brake noise when I drive my car. Usually right after startup. After a few minutes of driving and braking, the noise doesnt persist through all the braking, only when I put the pedal down about 20% it won't screech, then from about 30-70% of pedal down it makes a loud squeek, and when I press the pedal down hard it wont squeek.

I felt my pads and it appears that I have lots of brake pad, and the brake system was recently replaced, so it isnt that.

Could it be the type of my pads? Or are my rotors dirty?

Please help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Did you bed the pads in correctly?
What kind of compound are they made of?

Don't know

If you don't know, then the pads were not bedded properly.

As for compound, well, if you didn't bed them, it really doesn't matter.

Your only solution is to take the brakes off, wash the rotor in soap and water, put it all back together, and bed the pads properly.

Or you can just live with the noise. Contrary to popular opinion, squeaking brakes do not usually signify a problem.

Was this just a pad slap?

Or was a proper brake job done? That would include resurfacing rotors if needed, packing wheel bearings, and bedding the pads.
