axle tube to diff

I have my 8.5 at a shop to weld big bearing ends on for ford big bearing
The shop recommended welding the axle to the diff housing Im not sure what's your thought car will NOT go faster tan low 10s

Won't hurt, my 12 bolts done. Probably going to do my 10 bolt in the buick when I get to it.
