Hey guys,

It's been almost 20 years since I posted anything or drove my 84 GN. Back then I tried modifying it but got frustrated with it, then had some health and work issues then finally busy with the kids back so I just let the car sit. I recently retired and now have spent the last 3 months giving my GN some much needed TLC and got it back on the road this week. I removed the alky kit (make me a decent offer and it's yours), replaced the heater core, radiator, hoses, thermostat, heater valve, sending unit, new 42# injectors with TT 93 Street chip, fuel filter, water pump and of course a battery. The gas tank was almost empty and remarkably clean. I flushed out the fuel lines but he tank vapor vent line is blocked with rust. I've been cleaning, painting and detailing the engine bay as I go along. My adjustable FPR was blowing gas out of the vacuum port so I went back to a stock FPR I had. I had 30# injectors on it that tested good on the bench and held fuel pressure after putting them back on but when I went to start it a few failed by sticking open due to deposits that were already in them. Luckily I was able to replace the injectors without removing the turbo and heater core pipes again. I'm in the process of doing a cooling system cleaning with Evaporust Thermocure.

Any suggestions on my gas tank vapor line, it's now disconnected where it attaches above the rear for the time being. I was thinking of using 5/16 soft copper tubing to reconnect it to the charcoal canister as I don't want the vapors collecting up above the tank. I'm not interested in replacing all 3 lines with AN hoses at this time, she's been in my garage since 93 so external rust isn't an issue. I also have 30+ year old tires with nasty flat spots so I'm looking into a set of basic all season radials maybe Hankook or General just to cruise around on. I'm really thinking about going back to all black sidewalls too. Still have detailing to do inside and out, the drivers side seat cushion has a hole in it, have to fix my power antenna, radio and whatever else comes along.

Glad to be back,
Gary

Welcome back !!!
Nice job on detailing the engine bay too. I like what you did for the hood insulation turbo shield. I did a very similar fix.
You may want to replace your fuel vapor line with replacement lines that are engineered from factory originals - link: In Line Tube
