Back up lights issue

I've got an issue with the back up lights, when in park with the key on the back up lights will come on, when you put it in reverse they will go out. It does not seem like the linkage is the issue. Any help is appriciated, thanks in advance guys.

Yes sir. Sounds like linkage issue.

The gear selector switch is adjustable and at the base of the steering column try adjusting it.
