I got the buick back about a week ago and drove it about two hundred miles. i had the heads and valves all machined and had it running pretty strong up until now. after dropping two grand i was on my way back home after cleaning up some stuff at a GBody meet with a few buddies and pop! lost all throttle and backfired. i tried to start again and it back fired so loud i almost lost my hearing. after putting it on the tow truck, i found that my muffler blew at the seams. i figure that it was an ignition problem due to a bad wire from the alternator (I melted it to the exhaust manifold, and fixed the problem with the shrink tubing) but my intercooler was making weird noises before when it was cold. hopefully this wasnt detonation, i dont know what thats like. it was running lean because i didnt have the correct anything. i picked this thing up about two months ago and drove it a total of a week. it has no scan master and stock everything minus the major work i put into it. figure i pull the intercooler out, and just sit on it for awhile until i go through the whole thing. any ideas of why it decided to just take a ****? i mean without codes i guess im guessing...but anywho. any advice will help. figure i will make a trophy with the exploded muffler.
