backfireing question

Hey everyone i have the 85 GN and i just got done putting in a set of Comp Cams 980s springs everything sounds good but im running 91 gas and running 15 PSI of boost crusing speed it runes good but when i just get on it hard its like eather its knocking bad and pulling fuel or somthing i have a Poston i guess a red armstrong chip and i have been told they are junk, can anyone tell me what could be going on also i turned down my boost to 10 PSI and runs great i have heard the trubotweek chips are good also. Someone let me know
