Bad cam sensor symptoms. junkyard.

Could a burnt or bent valve cause these symptoms?I was told to see if the exhaust pipe is sucking in to check the valves.The compression was 160 on all cylinders.If it was a valve it should show up on compression check right?

Burnt or bent valve will show low compression, probably less than 90. I forget what the spec is on our motors.

You could do a leak down test, you air up the cylinder to 120psi, and test to see where the air is leaking out... Listen to the motor, if you hear air rushing out the intake, the intake valve is open, same with the exhaust side.
If there is a weak cyl, it will show thru the crankcase past the rings. or headgasket blown thru the intake side, crank up the pressure and test (listen) for the air escaping.
The bent push rod will show its self when you pull the valve covers, and use a 18mm wrench, put it on the tensioner to TIGHTEN the tensioner to the belt, and use a ratchet on the alternator nut and spin the motor over.
Visually look at the rockers, and see if they go up and down, if yes, your cam lobes are good and so are your push rods.... If one doesnt go up and down, then the lobe is bad, and or the push rod is bent.

Do you have a dead cylinder? I forget....

You might want to check your throttle position sensor. Tap on it and see if the idle changes or check what the voltage output is in the idle position.

Thanx to cmefly.He came over and checked the car out.Pulled the valve covers the no.1 rocker was not going as high as the others.He said I have a wiped cam.cmefly is the man thanx for all you guys help too.Know I will be doing some research on what cam to go with.
 
go with a 204/214 cam they are awesome. i run rotella and stp and i took the heads off tonight to replace with race ported heads and intake from kn performance. well i pulled each lifter and they are FREEKIN MINT no wear whatsoever 2000 plus miles and hard miles.

204/214 cam does it got pretty good bottom end on it?I have a stock turbo for right now I am going to go bigger.Need a good cam to bigger on my turbo.cmefly told me to go with a 206/206 or 204/214 so I don't know which one to go with.Who makes the cam you have?
